  SALMONELLA POISONING! EATER BEWARE!
  
  First time I went there, it took​ over 30 minutes to get my meal. I wasn't pleased but decided to give them another chance a few weeks later. The second time I received my meal in over 30 minutes again and to top it off I got SALMONELLA POISONING! They were rushing to get food out and undercooked my chicken. I thought it tasted a bit funny and my wife said the same when she took a bite. She ended up get nauseous the next day but nothing like what I went through.
  
  I missed 3 days of work due to fever, vomiting, and defecating 6-8 times a day. The illness and defecating went on for roughly a week. I went to urgent care to get a doctor's note for my work and submitted a stool sample. About a week later, they called​ me and told me I have SALMONELLA POISONING! The health department called me and asked me 50 questions as well as the CDC.
  
  My wife just so happened​ to meet someone who works at Early Girl Eatery (they own King Daddy's and Early Girl) and was talking to them about the two restaurants. She did not mention to the kitchen staff about my experience but during conversation the staff member said that they send their employees that are on their last strike or close to being fired to King Daddy's. This explains a lot.
  
  I called the manager at King Daddy's and explained to her that I received salmonella poisoning and that the health department would be contacting them. I told her I wanted to be reimbursed for my medical expenses and time lost at work. She said she would call the owners and let them know. She called back and told me they can't move forward until contacted by the health department. They never did. I called the health department and asked them if they spoke to them and they said they did. If I'm continued to be neglected I plan to stand outside their restaurant and protest. If failure of compensation after that I will take a step further. I just got new much higher paying job, so I can afford to take legal actions that will cost them 10 fold rather than meeting my simple demands paying my 3 days work missed and a copay for my doctor.

  My family has visited King Daddy's two time now and at both visits the food was excellent. I have had the duck endive and also the lamb burger, my kids love the pumpkin waffles and scrambled eggs. My wife LOVE'S the sweet tea! And the staff have always been very friendly and attentive.

  Super delicious food with excellent service in a relaxed setting. Glutenless fried chicken was perfect and the waffle was very tasty. First time trying chicken and waffles and I thoroughly enjoyed them. If I'm in Asheville again I will definitely plan to return to King Daddy's. Prices were very reasonable.
