  Mayfel's absolutely brought it. I had the crab cakes, my sister had the etouffe, and my dad had the meatloaf. We actually ordered another meal to go because it was so delicious. Great service, great food, and I will be back.

  I've heard the food was good, but too bad we didn't get to try it today. I was in town for a photo shoot for a local designer, and our group was trying to showcase local fashion as well as business. We came on Mayfel's, which had a lovely atmosphere and a nice little hideaway and had heard the food was good, so we thought it was the perfect place to be. Upon arriving, we chose a table outside, as we didn't know the area, restaurant, or that there was a host stand. Once we got settled in and waited for menus, we started shooting a bit till we could order drinks. Shortly after, a rude red headed gentleman greeted us with, "How long are you all going to be here? I'm in the middle of Saturday dinner rush." Well, not only was it Friday, but there were two tables with people outside and no line. My supervisor informed him that we'd like to grab some food and drinks while we were there and asked for menus. He brought two out for the six of us, then repeatedly informed us he was in the middle of dinner rush, that we should hurry and were in his section, and was completely rude and disrespectful to all of us, treating us like we were an inconvenience. Still yet, we shot some photos and were planning to order some drinks. Once he finally came over, we all told him what we wanted and he asked for IDs, which 3 of us didn't have, so we asked for water instead (which is completely fine), the photographer said she didn't want to drink without us, but another in our party told him she still wanted a drink. As she spoke to him, he walked away, threw a door open, and never came back to us. When we asked about our waters and drink as he walked by once, he looked at us and kept walking, then we noticed other staff was staring out the door at us. Completely unacceptable and poor customer service and it's a shame because we'd heard so many good things about the cuisine. Perhaps respect and courtesy weren't in his training.
